Mouthguards - Night Guards General Dentistry
Teeth Night Grinding

A lot more people grind their teeth than know about it.  Like snoring, it usually happens during sleep - with the grinder unaware.  Though their sleeping partners may know about it (by hearing it).  A dentist can easily observe the detrimental effects of night grinding.

Are your teeth slowly disappearing?

Night grinding and clenching of teeth is one of the top three major causes for tooth loss. Early diagnosis and prevention can save you a lot of time, trouble, and money.

Prevention & Treatment

A custom-fitted bite guard is the best way to prevent damage to your teeth.  We can't turn off the (neurological) mechanism that causes you to grind.  But, we can protect the teeth and jaw joints with a shield - that is a bite guard worn at night.

Many "migraine" headaches are the result of extreme grinding and clenching of the teeth at night.  A night guard can also reduce the severity and frequency of these headaches.
